In retrospect, this album was a missed opportunity for Elton and its been best known for only the completists and dedicated fans. Eltons voice was a knock-out and he also did some of his best singing ever. He only let the producer take complete control and only provided the vocals, but some of the keyboard playing was absolutely stunning. However, this album could have been so much better, and one could easily be fooled that Elton actually played on the electric keyboards. Most everything else on "Victim Of Love" is still quite danceable, even if the material is slight. Goode", is the most satisfying standout track on the whole album. The opening track, which is an 8 minute version of "Johnny B. Although this album shows hardly any comparison to his other work, disco was "king" throughout the mid to late 70s, without a doubt, and Elton created this disco album fairly well.
